The Goodbye Quilt by Susan Wiggs and Rachel’s Confetti Toss

Rachel's Confetti Toss

Do you like to read and quilt?  If so, check out Starwood Quilter, an online quilter’s book club.  For the month of September we are reading, The Goodbye Quilt by Susan Wiggs.  There’s still time to get in on the fun!

Many years ago, before I started “quilting”, I made a string quilt using the scraps from the clothes I was making for our daughter.  The quilt is tied with polyester high loft batting and the backing is rolled to the front finishing the edges.   Confetti Toss is the antique quilt it’s patterned after, published in Quilts Sew Quick by Oxmoor House in 1995.  I’m still making string quilts, however they have evolved!

Do you want to make this quilt?  Check out The Goodbye Quilt by Susan Wiggs, the pattern is at the end of the book!!

  1. My first quilt was also mostly scraps from clothing made for kids. Yours is quite nice and well organized.
