Trash to Treasure – Pineapple Quilt

Trash to Treasure – Pineapple Quilt

12 blocks done

I love scrappy!  This project lives at my quilting buddy’s house.  That way, I always have something to work on when we have sew days.  I’m using the book and ruler by Gyleen Fitzgerald,  “Trash to Treasuretrash to treasure book.  All kinds of fabric are thrown in here.  The strips are cut 1 1/2″.   It’s a great way to use those little pieces left when you’re cutting fabric or the remnants left from quilt backs.  I’m making the scrappy version, but her book has more coordinated settings, too. Not sure how big this one will be, but I have enough strips for about 100 blocks!!!

Have you made a Trash to Treasure quilt?  I’d love to see your pictures, too.  Leave a comment or send me an email (linda at lrdesignsquilting dot com) with your pictures and I’ll post them.  Thanks!  :) Linda

PSQ Update – Design Wall Monday

PSQ Update – Design Wall Monday

3584 charms

I’ve been sneaking time away from LAQ to randomly sew PSQ blocks together.  The 8 rows are assembled and ready for the last step.  I’m so excited to get this finished and on the longarm for quilting.  I love, love the look of 3584 charms with no border.

I still have lots of charms and if Mary at The Curious Quilter does another swap, I’ll be signing up for that!

Are you on Pinterest?  I’m pinning PSQ ideas on my Quilts to Make board.

Have you made a Postage Stamp Quilt (PSQ)?  Leave a comment sharing your favorite PSQ, I need more ideas!

Check out Judy at Patchwork Times for other Design Wall Monday projects.

Thanks!  :) Linda

One of my favorite things is giving quilts!  My goal in life is to make a quilt for everyone in my family.  I have a big family and it keeps growing with marriages and babies!  I couldn’t be happier, more quilts to make and give away!  Even though Chris is not “technically” a family member, he is definitely family and has won our hearts, including our daughter’s.  This is one of my all time favorite quilts to make and give away.  It’s a cozy quilt that’s easy care, machine wash and dry.  Yes, I have another Stacked Squares quilt started!  I’ll keep making them until the fabric runs out!

Thanks for looking!  If you’re traveling today – be safe!  :) Linda

I’m in a Chain Gang!

I’m in a Chain Gang!

After my cutting fabric post, I’ve decided to take the plunge and start working on a Postage Stamp Quilt.  The Curious Quilter has a February Mini-Challenge to get you started!  I’m in the Chain Gang group!  What group would you be in?

My ultimate goal is to get my leftover fabric cut into usable sizes:   10″, 5″, 2 1/2″, 2″ and 1 1/2″, and then of course make a quilt with them!

Want to join the fun?!

Just keep stitchin’

Mary’s Rebel Roses quilt – check!

Mary’s Rebel Roses quilt – check!

Another check for my Quilting Bucket List!  I’m late giving Mary her birthday present but better late than never, right?!  My quilt guild had a show this year so I delayed giving it to Mary so it could be on display.  Here’s the proof!

And yes, that’s Drew and Abby’s wedding quilt on the right, they had to wait for their quilt, too!  Mary’s quilt is my original design using a design wall to place the blocks.  Very simple, really shows off the fabrics.  Here’s a couple detail pictures of the quilting.

The Quilter’s Dream Orient batting drapes well and has that wonderful antique look after washing.  It’s really evident from the back.

Now, on to the next one!  Thanks for visiting!
