Looks like it ‘s time to order thread again! Does anyone have any great ideas for what to do with the empties?
Just ran across this great YouTube video with a very cool idea for a patchwork bag, strip piecing with a twist! Check it out at Colouricious Christmas! If you’ve seen this before, did you make one?
Just had my first guy quilter bring me a quilt this week! And then later that day I ran across a fun blog with an online quilt show called, “Men Quilt Too!!”. You can check it out here at Pigtails and Quilts. And if you’re a quilting man there is still time to enter!
And the back is pieced, too!
My big purchase (not counting Superior Threads) at the AQS show in Des Moines was 600 1″ hexagon papers for English paper piecing! I’m going on a bus trip later this month and wanted to bring a hand sewing project. I plan to cut a bunch of 2 1/2″ squares to start the process of making a small hexagon quilt or table runner. When I got home from the show a birthday present was waiting for me from Wendy, one of my very good customers! A 4″ Gingher scissors! It’s a perfect take along scissor that is sharp enough to cut the corners of fabric and clip thread! I tried it out this weekend when we traveled to Luther College for parents weekend, sewing the little samples that Paper Pieces hands out at the show.
Here’s a link to the winning quilts from the Des Moines quilt show! Their pictures are better than mine. Now back to work!
