Strip quilt

Here’s a great idea for a fast baby quilt.  Michelle combined  fun fabrics for a perfect first granddaughter quilt.  The pantograph, Daisy Swirl, adds a sweet element.

I’m still designing baby quilts for the remaining 3 babies to be delivered this year, I’m tempted to try this strip quilt for one of them!  Stay tuned to find out!

Thanks!  🙂 Linda

Dish Mats by you!

Dish Mats by you!

Joyce 1 Joyce 2

Thank you to Joyce for sharing her dish mat pictures!  So cute!  Check out the fun quilting stitches used around the border!  What a great idea.

Have you made a dish mat?  I’d love to see the fabrics you choose!

Here’s the tutorial post.  Email your pictures to  Linda at LRDesignsQuilting dot com  or post them on my Facebook Page and I’ll share them.

Thanks!  🙂 Linda

Dish Mats Revisited Again!

Dish Mats Revisited Again!

6 mats revisited

Six fat quarters + terry cloth + a few hours = 6 dish mats revisited!  I played with my stash and found 3 pairs of fabrics to put together for 6 new dish mats.  It was fun to find fabrics not purchased together as coordinates for this project!  I love how they turned out and will find some unsuspecting persons to gift them to!

Here’s the link to the tutorial post.  Have you made one yet?

Thanks!  🙂 Linda

Swirl and Curl quilting

My extended family will be having four babies this year!  And yesterday was the arrival of the first, Kailani Harper!  I love making Tummy Time quilts for the babies and here’s the one I made for Kailani.

If you’ve followed my blog you might have seen the design process for making this quilt.  All the fabric was leftover from another quilt!

The batting is Quilter’s Dream 100% cotton select with another layer of Quilter’s Dream Puff!  I love the texture of the double batting and my new favorite Swirl and Curl freehand quilting design.  I challenge the parents to use the quilts and I’ll make them another if they wear it out!

I’m linking with A Stitch in Time for another April finish!

Got Charms?

Got Charms?

500 plus charms

A big thank you to my postage stamp charm swappers!  With 500 new charms, I’m ready to design the next quilt.  I’m searching and pinning ideas for the next PSQ.  Do you have a suggestion for me?

3584 charms

My first PSQ is almost ready for quilting.  Each charm will be quilted with continuous curve or an X.  I’m excited to fit it into my quilting schedule.  Would it be weird to use up all my partial bobbins of thread in random order?  We’ll see what happens!

Thanks!!!  🙂 Linda
