Design Wall Monday – 37 done, 19 to go!

Design Wall Monday – 37 done, 19 to go!

I’m so excited to have 37 PSQ blocks done!  It was great to get all the new charms from my swappers and my quilting buddies.  Quilters are so generous with their time and scraps, thank you everyone!

A big thank you to Mary at The Curious Quilter for arranging the swap.  What a chore!  I signed up for 10 swaps and 2 newbies and that was a challenge!

Thanks for looking and check out other Design Wall Monday project Patchwork Times by Judy.

Have a great week!  🙂 Linda

Vintage Quilt part 2

Vintage Quilt part 2

Here’s the full reveal of the vintage quilt from this post. Most of the nine patch blocks were hand pieced by Sandy’s friend who is 93.  She started the blocks years ago (during her 40’s!) and Sandy is helping her finish it.  Does it remind you of today’s improv and modern quilts?

Here’s the coordinating bed runner.  The little pinwheel blocks are not pieced but fussy cut from the fabric.  They fooled me the first time I looked at them.  What’s really great about finishing this quilt is that she plans to use it!  She’ll finally get to sleep under it.  Once again, I was honored to be part of getting this project done.

Do you have an vintage unfinished quilt in your closet?  What’s the story behind it?

Thanks for looking!  🙂 Linda

I just finished quilting another vintage quilt, that’s 2 in one month!  Many of the fabrics look like my recent flea market purchases.

Here’s some photos comparing my flea market fabric to the quilt fabric.  What do you think?

The fabric is very similar in texture and style.  Mine are in the center, cut up and ready to use!

Some of the flea market fabric I set aside as not usable, but 2 of the fabrics in this quilt are almost identical to my purchases.

The tiny Christmas prints could be coordinates.

I totally dismissed the green fabric but it is exactly like the red fabric in this block.  It’s very loose and linen like.  Not sure if I’ll use it but you never know!

I’ll post pictures of the whole quilt after it’s delivered!

Thanks for looking!
