Coloring Placemats!

Coloring Placemats!

After making one reusable coloring book with fabric, which was very labor intensive and costly to make ( I was planning to make several for the littles in my family) I decided to make Coloring Placemats instead!

Use washable markers to color the placemats!

Then toss them in the washer and start all over again!

All clean after washing!

They are a big hit. The kids pick their favorite designs and when they spill on them, the milk stays on the placemat instead of running off like on a vinyl one. So, the request was to make more, big surprise, so they could have some in the washer and some on the table! Obviously, I’m always looking for fun projects to use fabric and batting scraps! I’m using the same method as the Hot Pad Table Runners so they sew together quickly. And I’m using whatever batting scraps I have, usually Quilters Dream Poly Select, white.

Another design, no coloring required!

Here’s an example using some fun eye spy fabric!

Hope you have a happy and safe holiday filled with crafting and stitching!

Surprise “Congrats Quilt” for Jenny!

Surprise “Congrats Quilt” for Jenny!

Every year we travel to my brother’s house in Missouri to celebrate Thanksgiving with a big family reunion! This year I was able to deliver a surprise quilt for my niece Jenny who is graduating with a Business degree in December! Her daughter, Alexis (on left) gave me the idea earlier this year and if you know quilters, we are always looking for someone to gift a quilt to! Alexis received a quilt from me when she graduated high school, here’s a link to that quilt! The quilt pattern is Squiggles in Christa Watson’s book, Piece and Quilt with Precuts. I hope all of you had a great holiday weekend and now it’s December! Woohoo!

Thank you! Linda D
