Monkey Tails – Swirl and Curl 2

Monkey Tails – Swirl and Curl 2

Monkey quilt

One of my go to freehand styles is Swirl and Curl.   As you know, I love quilting swirls and curls!  That’s the design I suggested for Nancy’s Jungle quilt, which had monkey backing fabric.  When I started quilting it, I decided to round the center curl to create the Monkey Tail version.

I love it!

What do you think?  The only problem with creating a new design is not making a mistake!   “Round off” was my mantra throughout the stitching process!   Send my your monkey quilts today!!  :)

Thanks for looking!  :) Linda

Rangeley Stars quilt

This is a big one!  I met Ann last January at Rainbows and Calico Things retreat.  She was taking the class to make this awesome quilt called Rangeley Stars.  Yes, January 2013 and she finished in April!!  I’ve made progress on my retreat projects but not finished!  Kudos to Ann for finishing.

We decided to finish with an freehand overall edge to edge quilting called Meandering Feathers using a dark neutral thread.Rangeley Stars by Ann

The fabric colors are much truer with natural sunlight!

The backing fabric is natural muslin, which looks great with this quilting design.  The thread is darker so the quilting stands out.

Thanks!  :) Linda

One Quilt, Two Quilt

One Quilt, Two Quilt

Last January, I was at a Rainbows and Calico Things quilting retreat and Mary and Beverly were working on this quilt called Cozy Cabin.

I was excited to quilt both of them!

For Beverly’s quilt, we decided on meandering feathers throughout the quilt except in the small blue squares.

Mary decided to add the pieced border to her Cozy Cabin.  Pretty awesome!

For this quilt we decided on an E2E Peacock Feathers meander.

I love the light blue thread!  It looks dark on the light fabric and light on dark fabric!

Waterworld Pantograph – Reversible Quilt

Waterworld Pantograph – Reversible Quilt

I’ve been so busy sewing postage stamp and great granny blocks, I’m behind on posting customer quilts!

Marty’s quilt is truly reversible!  For this, we decided an E2E design to compliment both sides.  And because I would not be able to see the grey thread, I picked the Waterworld pantograph for the quilting design.

Here’s the back view and it looks great, too!

After quilting it, I might even like the reverse side better than the front!  What do you think?

Do you make reversible quilts?
