3584 Charms Later – Postage Stamp Quilt is done!

2 inch charmsI’m done!  A big thank you to Curious Quilter for organizing multiple international swaps that resulted in my first Postage Stamp quilt using 3584 different 2″ charms.  I love it! 3584 charmsAs I made the blocks, I used a light/dark pairing which resulted in a wave of color variations.  I love the effect.  I’ll have to challenge my 10 year old granddaughter to find a duplicate among the 3,584 charms.  I don’t think there is one, but you never know!

The quilting is a simple freehand continuous curve, or orange peel.  The finished block is 1 1/2″ so it was easy to do freehand without a ruler.

The batting is Quilter’s Dream 100% cotton batting and eventually I’ll wash and dry the quilt to make it even more wrinkly!

Now, the challenge is to decide on the design for PSQ #2!  I’m having fun “pinning” ideas.  Check them out here!

I’m linking up with A Stitch in Time July 2013 Finishes.  Check out other finishes here.  Thanks!  🙂 Linda

  1. I don’t normally take time to write but.THIS IS AMAZING .I hope someday to find the time. Wonderful job.

  2. Linda, that’s awesome! I’m using the same light/dark pairing for my swaps, too, but I’ve hardly gotten any sewing time so it’s pitifully slow. Great job!!

  3. Linda! It is really lovely! Congrats on finishing your first PSQ, and aren’t they fun? I really love the colors, it sort of shimmers!

And thanks for popping a picture of it up on the PSQ Swap flicker pages. I am looking forward to seeing your next one.

  4. WOW! Your results are beautiful. And the quilting really sets it off. Congratulations on the result–I wouldn’t want to get rid of it either.

  5. Bravo!
The piecing is great — but what really, really impresses me is all that continuous curve quilting, on every single patch!

    Great job.

  6. I’m speechless! That is one seriously spectacular quilt! I love that there isn’t a single duplicate of fabrics. Amazing is what that is. Congrats on a finish that, I’m sure, was years in the making. Beautifully done and thank you for linking up.
