Sherri’s Sun and Sky 2

Sherri’s Sun and Sky 2

This quilt might look familiar!  Check out a post from April 2011!  Did I mention that we had enough fabric to make four of these quilts?  I sent one to Christal in April and this one went to my dear friend Sherri who got married this summer and just celebrated her birthday in August!  In fact, her comment , “This would look good in my house”, about my bedroom quilt inspired me to make these blue and yellow quilts.  As luck (haha) would have it, I just happened to have yards and yards of the blue and yellow flower print in the border and backing.  I was going to make a dust ruffle, or pillow shams to match mine, (another haha)!  Sherri’s quilt has a different narrow border and backing but otherwise, it’s pretty much the same.  I still love this quilt!  I think Candy might still have her fabric, maybe I’ll swipe it!  Enjoy the pictures, I look forward to hearing from my friend when she gets her package!

Zeke’s baby quilt

Zeke’s baby quilt

I love it when there’s another baby born in my family so I can make a quilt to give away!!!!  Because we didn’t know the sex, I made a quilt using lots of fun bright colors suitable for either boy or girl.  I used some of the same fabrics in his big sister Selah’s quilt!  I hope they like it!  The quilt is made with the large Twister Tool, the batting is Quilter’s Dream Puff and the thread is Superior Threads OMNI.  Unlike Selah’s, I used flannel for the backing and I machine stitched the binding to the front of the quilt.  If you haven’t made a Twisting Pinwheel quilt using the Twister Tool from Country Schoolhouse try it!  It’s very fun and fast!
