Cute blog find!

Cute blog find!

With all the babies in my family, I love finding sewing projects for them!  Here’s a cute bib/apron = bapron idea from Craftiness is not Optional.  Great use for those fun fat quarters!

Not that I need another project but the babies need cute bibs, right?!

Have fun and just keep stitchin’

Here’s a tutorial for making a floor cushion.  Try using fabric scraps or orphan blocks!  It can be any size, just use the appropriate pillow form.  I would probably make a flapped back instead of a zipper, but that’s just me.

The “top” is quilted so you can use leftover batting pieces, too.  The batting scraps could be sewn or fused together.  Here’s a product to do that with!

Enjoy!

And just keep stitchin’

Linda’s Dish Mat Tutorial

Linda’s Dish Mat Tutorial

As promised in a previous post, here’s a tutorial for the dish mats!  They are very simple and stitch up fast.  You can make them any size but for this demo, I used a fat quarter of focus fabric and a slightly larger piece of terry cloth.  I bought several yards of terry, pre-washed it and rough cut it with a scissors.  Fair warning on the terry, it shrinks, so buy more than you think that you’ll need to allow for that.

Great for drying glasses!

Here’s a pdf version of my instructions  Linda’s Dish Mat Tutorial .  Have fun!  Email your dish mat pictures to:

Update:  I’ve revisited making Dish Mats!  Here’s a new easier version with borders!  Check it out here!  Thanks!  🙂 Linda
