Some quilts are just fun!  Diane’s I Spy quilt uses a jar motif to feature fun focus fabric.  We decided to use a small meander and variegated thread adding texture and color to the wide borders and jar blocks.  The jar lid is outlined with a simple straight stitch.  Following the butterfly motif, a freehand butterfly is stitched in the purple sashing and yellow cornerstones using the same variegated thread giving a whimsical look.  To make the jars stand out the black background is stitched with a small meander with black thread.
