A big thank you to Rainbows and Calico Things quilt shop for a fun summer retreat reunion weekend! One of the benefits of spending time with fellow quilters is brainstorming and exchanging ideas.
That resulted in my plan to change this nine patch and solid WIP to an on point layout. I’m going back to the drawing board, pulling more fabrics to make additional nine patches and looking for a possible border fabric.
I like it!
Check out other Patchwork Times for other Design Wall Monday projects!
Thanks! 🙂 Linda
Your 9-patches look lovely. I like the plain green squares. I’ve been thinking recently about how colors sometimes become “neutrals” when they’re used like this green. I suppose it’s not really a neutral but more a background.
I often find the switch to on-point layout dramatic, like you did. I am surprised you have to make more blocks; I thought on-point required fewer…
Precioso.. me gusta mucho la combinacion de colores.
Saludos desde españa.
Beautiful .. I love the color combination.
Greetings from Spain.
Thank you!!!
You’re right, I’m making more blocks to get the size I want. I was stalled on making this until I switched to on-point, now I’m energized again!
