Christmas Ribbons

Christmas Ribbons

Aren’t Christmas quilts fun!  I have to admit that I have a Christmas UFO hanging in my closet, just needs to be quilted!  Maybe next year I’ll quilt mine!  This is one of three Christmas themed quilts Marty brought me for quilting.  It was fun to follow the style of the quilt and quilt it with ribbons and a fun flower in the negative spaces. The thread matches in the negative spaces but I love the great texture it creates when the light hits it.

The batting is Quilter’s Dream 100% cotton select and the thread is Superior Threads OMNI.

How’s your Christmas sewing going?  Have a great stitching weekend!!

It’s a big one!

Marty’s made another really great quilt and it’s a big one!  The quilting design is a freehand E2E called Tear Drop Echo meander.  It seems to move around the quilt which is perfect for the squares and rectangles of this quilt.  The batting is Quilter’s Dream 100% cotton select and the thread is Superior Threads So Fine #50.

I love how the medium brown thread changes from a light to a dark depending on the fabric.

My AquaDoodle tip

My AquaDoodle tip

If you have any kids or grandchildren, you might have seen one of these.  I have used it to remove blue or purple marks from a quilt that I didn’t want to spray or get very wet.

On batik quilts, the needle holes are very hard to remove after unstitching. The AquaDoodle can put water right on the needle holes and close them without bleeding the fabrics.  Here’s the before and after pics!
