Knitting!

Knitting!

Holiday Knitting

Sometimes, I get into the knitting mood when I find something easy and fun to make.  The seed stitch knitted cowl uses one skein and you can knit it in one night!  Here’s the link to the free pattern.  I have made 2 dozen, maybe more of these wonders!  And now, my daughter has started making them, too.  She made the cream colored one.

The striped cowl is easy, too!  Here’s the link for the free pattern.

The knitted beanie is a little more work using dpn’s but still easy and very cozy if you make it with wool yarn!  The pattern is free on Ravelry, here’s the link for that.

I’m linking up with A Stitch In Time for a December finish.  I didn’t finish a quilt this month but at least I finished something!

A Christmas Quilt for Chris

A Christmas Quilt for Chris

Chris and me! Chris's Stacked Squares QuiltOne of my favorite things is giving quilts!  My goal in life is to make a quilt for everyone in my family.  I have a big family and it keeps growing with marriages and babies!  I couldn’t be happier, more quilts to make and give away!  Even though Chris is not “technically” a family member, he is definitely family and has won our hearts, including our daughter’s.  This is one of my all time favorite quilts to make and give away.  It’s a cozy quilt that’s easy care, machine wash and dry.  Yes, I have another Stacked Squares quilt started!  I’ll keep making them until the fabric runs out!

Thanks for looking!  If you’re traveling today – be safe!  🙂 Linda

BlockBase Sew Along – Block 6

BlockBase Sew Along – Block 6

Block 6

Here’s my Block 6 for the BlockBase Sew Along.  A big thanks to Candace, my quilting buddy, for the paper piecing templates!  Like blocks 1, 2 and 3, this block finishes 8 inches.  I followed the color way featured in BlockBase, combining vintage and new fabrics.

Check out how others Completed Block 6 here.

6 blocks

Six blocks done!  Six to go!  I love the look of them and it will be fun to incorporate them into a quilt.

I can’t believe we’re almost to the end of 2012!  Stay tuned for customer quilts and Christmas gifts posts!
