Jordy’s Sock Monkey quilt

Jordy’s Sock Monkey quilt

Sunday was Jordy’s baptism.  On Thursday, I decided he needed a little quilt!  Not too late to make one right?  Especially when it’s 2 flannel rectangles and machine stitched binding.  I quilted it on the longarm using a small meander and Quilter’s Dream 100% cotton batting.  Because both pieces were the same size I didn’t clamp it but did my one handed stitching again!  This was a smaller meander so I did have to make sure that my fingers were out of the way!

It’s hard to photograph, but I love how it got all soft and wrinkly after washing and drying.

And you may notice that I tucked the original Red Heel socks with the sock monkey instructions in the fold of the quilt.  Well, Jordy’s mom gave those right back to me!

I made one for my daughter years ago and if I could have found it, I would have given it to him!  So now, I guess I’ll have to make another one.

We’ve added a new blog “follow” feature.  Sign up is easy!  Thanks to my son, Drew, for the tech support!

Thanks for looking and just keep stitchin’

  1. Your post is great and your quilt is amazing!! Jordy (and I) absolutely love it!! Now I can’t wait to see the sock monkey! Thanks for putting it together for us…now I know it will be done perfectly!

Thanks for telling me about the follow feature, now I can read about and see your neat quilts! Although I will say that I need to learn what a meander is so I understand quilting better!

Thanks again for everything and thanks for posting about it!

(I tried posting this from my phone yesterday but my phone wouldn’t let me!!)

  2. That is such a cute quilt! I think that polka-dotted binding adds just the right touch. You did a beautiful job with the quilting and I love how it gets crinkly in the wash too. Congrats on a great finish and thank you for linking up!
