Here’s my first Tummy Time quilt of 2014! This is for Elijah, my cousin’s first grandson born March 19! I had fun using a coordinated set of fat quarters to make this sweet baby boy quilt. The quilting design is freehand Monkey Tails, the batting is Quilter’s Dream Puff and the thread is Superior So Fine!#50.
I finished this week, attached the label and mailed it! When I need it fast, I use a fine fabric marker for the label. I’m out of practice using my embroidery machine!
My niece makes the cutest little blankies out of furry fabric. It’s a Softee for the baby’s cheek!
Isn’t the monkey adorable!?
I’m linking with A Stitch in Time for an April finish! Check out other projects, too. Thanks for looking! 🙂 Linda
Here’s a cute quilt using a panel plus great sewing by Wendy. The small characters are framed with a narrow accent border.
Freehand E2E Monkey Tails is a perfect quilting design for this quilt!
The thread is Superior Thread So Fine!#50 in a light blue color. I love how it blends with the blues and greens.
Thanks! Linda 🙂
One of my go to freehand styles is Swirl and Curl. As you know, I love quilting swirls and curls! That’s the design I suggested for Nancy’s Jungle quilt, which had monkey backing fabric. When I started quilting it, I decided to round the center curl to create the Monkey Tail version.
I love it!
What do you think? The only problem with creating a new design is not making a mistake! “Round off” was my mantra throughout the stitching process! Send me your monkey quilts today!! 🙂
Thanks for looking! 🙂 Linda
