Nina’s quilt, “Windy by the Lake” is a great example of using solid fabrics. The multiple secondary patterns are very eye catching!
The two thread colors create the pattern on the back! This quilt is very reversible. Love it!
Have a great day sewing!
Here’s a sneak peak at another Glacier Star quilt! Of course, it’s the back.
I’m also testing using my phone to make this blog post!
Thanks for letting me run this test!
Pictures are a best way to describe this quilt! Glacier Star is a Judy Niemeyer quilt that is an insane sewing project that only crazy people tackle! And this week I’ll be quilting another!Mary added the extra borders to her Glacier Star, doubly insane! Lots and lots of tiny pieces! You could make this smaller version of the Glacier Star instead of adding the additional sections, like Mary did.The back looks pretty awesome, too! I was honored that Mary trusted me with her big project. More pictures are available here.
Thanks for looking and stay tuned for the next Glacier Star!
Last weekend we celebrated another wedding in our family! I’ve pinned this quilt idea many times from the “Sunday Morning Quilts” book by Amanda Jean Nyberg and Cheryl Arkison so I was excited to make it for Alyssa and Keaton. If you own the book, this is the “Sunday Morning” quilt.I stitched their name and date in this one, too! The quilting is simple back and forth lines, my current favorite! Here’s the happy couple after they opened their presents the next day! My cousin, Joellyn, was my partner in crime creating this quilt gift and I was excited she was able to be there for the big reveal!

The latest baby addition to our family is identical twin girls and I was happy to present them with their personalized Tummy Time quilts! Their big sister, Aria’s quilt is all about being a princess and for Ava and Kaleigh it’s Rectangle Strings. I waited until after they were born to quilt them so I could add the name, date and my signature! It’s fun to see strips of Aria’s quilt in these quilts! I’m sure she’ll find them, too. I love the backing fabric and the positive sayings! Especially, “dare to be different!” Perfect for identical twins! It took four of us to hold the babies and the quilts for the picture!Ava’s already trying out her Tummy Time quilt!
The batting is Quilters Dream Puff and the thread is Superior Threads – So Fine! #50.
