Here’s one of my projects that I’ve moved from the “UFO” category to the “WIP” category. It’s a table runner kit that I had a year before I started it last month at quilt retreat. I’m making progress! It’s an easy project with lots of little pieces! I plan to quilt it on the longarm but instead of loading a little back, I’ll add it to the end of another quilt when I’ve got some extra space.
How are you doing on your loose ends?
Roll of Nickels
Here’s two more completed quilts for The Double Nickel Quilt Challenge. The first Roll of Nickels quilt is here. We decided to do a slightly different quilting design for the second one, Overlapping Squares Meander. It adds great texture to the homespun fabric while staying soft and cuddly after washing.
Crosses and Dots is another E2E combining Freehand Spirals with an occasional flower.
I love the white on white stitching but what if it I had used a pale yellow or blue thread? That could have been fun!
Can you believe we’re to the end of January? Hope you’ve had a great start to 2012! We’ve had a pretty exciting month, highlighted by sending our daughter to England to study abroad, going to a 3 day quilting retreat and visiting our son in Orlando. And thankfully, I was able to finish 8 customer quilts! I still have some Loose Ends to work on but maybe I’ll finish one next month!

Candace of The Double Nickel Quilt Challenge has awarded me The Versatile Blogger award! Thanks Candace!
As a recipient of this award, I am to share 7 things about myself and nominate 15 bloggers for this award.
So here goes!
1. My first quilt was made from my maternity clothes (sewn by me) in 1984. It was big blocks and tied with crochet thread.
2. My first “real” quilt was made in 2002 when that child graduated from high school! He has both quilts.
3. I have finished more than 75 quilts since then and I have at least 6 unfinished quilt tops.
4. Since purchasing my longarm in 2004, I have quilted 451 quilts!
5. I am working on my first hand pieced hexagon project.
6. I purchased my husband at a bachelor auction.
7. If I don’t sew, I get cranky!
I nominate the following blogs:

Here’s a tutorial for making a floor cushion. Try using fabric scraps or orphan blocks! It can be any size, just use the appropriate pillow form. I would probably make a flapped back instead of a zipper, but that’s just me.
The “top” is quilted so you can use leftover batting pieces, too. The batting scraps could be sewn or fused together. Here’s a product to do that with!
Enjoy!
And just keep stitchin’
