Another Melrose fabric quilt!

Another Melrose fabric quilt!

Barbara at Rainbows and Calico Things Quilt Shop used the Melrose fabric by Red Rooster  for a shop sample.  Here’s the quilt that I made with the same fabric – Bryana + Sam .

The quilting design is a freehand E2E called Overlapped Looped Spirals.

The spiral adds great texture to the squareness of the quilt and mimics the focus fabric elements.

Check out Rainbows and Calico Things for Melrose Five and Dime kits to complete this quilt.

Come to the Williamsburg area February 18 or 19 for the I-80 Quilter’s Shopping Spree at the Little Amana Clarion Inn.  Lots of vendors under one roof!

Thanks for looking and just keep stitchin’!

Loose Ends Update

Loose Ends Update

Here’s one of my projects that I’ve moved from the “UFO” category to the “WIP” category.  It’s a table runner kit that I had a year before I started it last month at quilt retreat.  I’m making progress!  It’s an easy project with lots of little pieces!  I plan to quilt it on the longarm but instead of loading a little back, I’ll add it to the end of another quilt when I’ve got some extra space.

How are you doing on your loose ends?

Roll of Nickels

Crosses and Dots

Here’s two more completed quilts for The Double Nickel Quilt Challenge.  The first Roll of Nickels quilt is here.  We decided to do a slightly different quilting design for the second one, Overlapping Squares Meander.  It adds great texture to the homespun fabric while staying soft and cuddly after washing.

Crosses and Dots is another E2E combining Freehand Spirals with an occasional flower.

The back is white, too!

I love the white on white stitching but what if it I had used a pale yellow or blue thread?  That could have been fun!

Can you believe we’re to the end of January?  Hope you’ve had a great start to 2012!  We’ve had a pretty exciting month, highlighted by sending our daughter to England to study abroad, going to a 3 day quilting retreat and visiting our son in Orlando.  And thankfully, I was able to finish 8 customer quilts!  I still have some Loose Ends to work on but maybe I’ll finish one next month!

Thanks for looking and just keep stitchin’
