Bryan and Ginny quilts

Bryan and Ginny quilts

Ginny’s husband has started quilting and here’s his first quilt!  Pretty ambitious!

The quilting is a freehand meander with Quilter’s Dream Puff batting and the thread is Superior OMNI.

He even created a nice pieced back.  And, I understand he’s working on another one!

Ginny picked up her quilt, too.  I love the color palette on this quilt using Amy Butler fabrics.

It’s quilted with with a freehand peacock feathers meander.  The batting is Quilter’s Dream Blend and the thread is Superior OMNI light tan.

I love the texture created with the quilting, especially on the back.

I’ll be going to a 3 day quilting retreat this weekend.  I plan to work on some loose ends and start some new ones!  I’ll  report back later!

I entered a quilt in this week’s Quilting Blogger’s themed contest, New Beginnings.  I’ll post the link tomorrow for you to see all the quilts and vote if you like!

Thanks for looking and just keep stitching!

My Tea Cozy

My Tea Cozy

I just got a great tea “cup” for steeping loose tea, however it doesn’t have handles and it’s very hot to drink from.  So, I whipped up a cozy to solve the problem!

You can check one of my previous posts for a tutorial link.  For this cozy, I used some fun fabric but the next ones will be scrappy!  I just tested it with some wonderful tea and it works great!

Enjoy!

Bear Chase Loose End

Bear Chase Loose End

I found a project box with an un-finished quilt called Bear Chase.  This one goes way back!

Look at all those little triangles!  What was I thinking!?  Thankfully, I’ve already done the triangles and block construction.

Next step, make the pieced border and sew the rows together.  This will a project for my quilt retreat coming up!   It’d be nice to get this into the waiting to be quilted category!

Thanks for looking!

Double Nickel Quilt Challenge

Double Nickel Quilt Challenge

I’m back to quilting Candace’s quilts for her Double Nickel Quilt Challenge.  She was nice enough to let me try a new pantogragh, Square Spiral, on her Nickel Crosses quilt.  It’s a very striking pattern and looks really great on this plaid quilt.

Linda’s Loose Ends 2012!

Linda’s Loose Ends 2012!

This is my challenge to complete quilts that I’ve started.  My own personal UFO journal.  I started the challenge by digging around in my sewing room looking for culprits!  I stopped looking when I hit 6 quilt tops!

Trip Around the World using 30’s reproduction fabrics.

This quilt was finished June 16, 2012.  See completed project post here.

Thimbleberries Sampler quilt

Scrappy pieced Log Cabin

All this fabric is left over from making a quilt for my brother.  I cut the fabric into 1 1/2″ strips and using a diagonal seam sewed them into longer strips to make very random log cabin blocks.  I will probably try to find some fabric for a border.

Stack and Whack with Christmas fabrics

Wall Hanging

Scrappy pieced Kaffe Fausett

This one is partially quilted, I didn’t put it back on the longarm to quilt the other borders!  All this fabric is left over from another quilt using Kaffe Fausett fabrics.

With a little motivation and planning, I’ll be trying to finish these.  I’ll keep posting my Loose Ends as I find them!

Just Keep Stitching!
