I love it when there’s another baby born in my family so I can make a quilt to give away!!!! Because we didn’t know the sex, I made a quilt using lots of fun bright colors suitable for either boy or girl. I used some of the same fabrics in his big sister Selah’s quilt! I hope they like it! The quilt is made with the large Twister Tool, the batting is Quilter’s Dream Puff and the thread is Superior Threads OMNI. Unlike Selah’s, I used flannel for the backing and I machine stitched the binding to the front of the quilt. If you haven’t made a Twisting Pinwheel quilt using the Twister Tool from Country Schoolhouse try it! It’s very fun and fast!

Marty’s 1/2 log cabin
When I saw this quilt I knew exactly what to quilt. We opted for echoed feathers in the border and curling c’s in the narrow borders. The body of the quilt is what I call back and forth feathers, creating a secondary pattern around the 1/2 log cabin fabrics. I like to match the top thread and bobbin thread and in this case that’s where you can see the quilting detail best because of the contrasting thread. It becomes a reversible quilt because Marty pieced a really fun backing.
Star flower pantograph
Linda’s made another fun quilt with fun modern colors and patterns. The Star Flower Pantograph by Sue Schmieden of The Quilting Connection is perfect for this quilt. The batting is Quilter’s Dream Poly select and the thread is Lava by Superior Threads. Check out the pieced back, good way to use up your fabric!
Pat’s Lone Star Quilt
Do you have an unfinished quilt you’ve put off quilting or have an unfinished gift or auction purchase? Pat’s Lone Star quilt has been waiting to quilted for awhile and I was very excited she brought it to me! Now she can finish the binding and have a great wallhanging. The batting is Quilter’s Dream Blend and the thread is Superior Threads So Fine #50. I have a small selection of extra wide backing fabric which we used for this quilt.
