Design Wall Monday

Design Wall Monday

Time to sew the rows together!  Here’s my answer to not making triangles, Squares and Rectangles.  The quilt is similar a previous quilt that I made for Bryana + Sam but for this one I’m using smaller units and the border will be a mottled black fabric instead of matching the grey squares.

Now the trick will be to have something new on my design wall for next Monday!  I’ve been jumping around from one project to the next, no getting bored for me!

Thanks to Judy at Patchwork Times for the Design Wall Monday links, it’s fun to check them out!

Thimbleberries Club 2004 Loose Ends

Thimbleberries Club 2004 Loose Ends

In an effort to organize my fabric and scraps for cutting, I keep finding more unfinished projects!  Here’s 2 wall hangings from a 2004 Thimbleberries club, they just need to be quilted.

Both of them have applique and hand stitching!  Something that I don’t do very often.

The next one is in really unfinished.  The center block is complete and I’m pretty sure I’ll never complete this as the pattern is written.  I’m not interested in doing the applique, etc.  Any suggestions?

In defense of myself, I did do most of the projects that year.  Each month was a small project and a block.  And at the end of the year you assembled a big quilt.  I’ll add a photo of that quilt to my gallery soon.  One of my favorite quilts, I made from the scraps (I’ll post that photo too) and I still have lots of scraps left!

Bright Hopes Loose End

Bright Hopes Loose End

Look what I found while I was looking for fabric to cut up for my Chain Gang Postage Stamp Quilt!  This one is an oldie, I think I started it in 2002.

Back then I thought I would machine embroider something in the big blank blocks but I got side tracked on everything else and in a box it went.

The curved blocks were assembled using Quiltsmart printed interfacing.

The original plan was to add wide borders using the background fabric but …. somehow it got used as a backing fabric for someone’s quilt!  In fact, I’m not sure who’s quilt has it, I may have to do a little research to figure it out!

I still have the strips I cut for binding and a small piece of bird fabric. There might be enough for a small border but I’m thinking to just leave it as it is and finish it with some fun quilting in the big spaces.

Any opinions?

Thanks for looking!  And just keep stitchin’

Loose End – Check!

Loose End – Check!

Just finished sewing the table runner kit!  It’s now in the “to be quilted” category.  I’m planning to add it to the end of another longarm quilting project.  So…..as soon as I can complete one of my own quilts, it has a chance to be completed!!

Loose Ends Update

Loose Ends Update

Here’s one of my projects that I’ve moved from the “UFO” category to the “WIP” category.  It’s a table runner kit that I had a year before I started it last month at quilt retreat.  I’m making progress!  It’s an easy project with lots of little pieces!  I plan to quilt it on the longarm but instead of loading a little back, I’ll add it to the end of another quilt when I’ve got some extra space.

How are you doing on your loose ends?
