Sneak Peak and Citrus Flash Thread!

Sneak Peak and Citrus Flash Thread!

Magnifico Thread 2198

I wasn’t convincing any customers to try this bright neon thread, so I slipped one of my quilts into the queue!  The thread is Magnifico by Superior Threads, Citrus Flash, #2198.  It quilted great and looks fabulous on this string pieced, tummy time quilt.  It’s too soon to reveal the whole quilt!

I love it!!

Thanks!  🙂 Linda

Anabel’s Lil’ Twister Dolly quilt

Anabel’s Lil’ Twister Dolly quilt

My grand-niece Anabel turned one yesterday and every little girl needs a dolly quilt! This quilt is the result of doing a Lil’ Twister tool demo for quilt guild.  It’s a perfect size for a Tummy Time dolly quilt.

And just for fun, I made a little postage stamp quilt for the dolly!  My quilting buddy, Candace, has been donating charms to me for my PSQ and a few of them were pink flannel!   Isn’t it cute?   I used a flannel backing with no batting or quilting.

I didn’t have Anabel’s dolly for the photo, so I swiped a Teddy bear from our daughter’s room to show the size.

I usually do big projects, but it’s very satisfying to make small ones!

I didn’t have an August finish to post, where did that month go, so I’m linking to September’s Stitch In Time for my first finish.  I hope to have another finish this month!  We’ll see!

It’s a boy!

It’s a boy!

Jordy’s Tummy Time quilt

Do you remember the baby shower gift wrapped in a quilt?  Well, that baby is a boy!  I decided to finish the boy version the day my niece went to the hospital!  I was getting progress reports from the grandma (my sister) while  I was stitching away.  I had the binding made and sewn on by machine, front and back, by 10:30 pm and Jordy was born at 12:03 am, so I had it done before he was born!!

Here I am giving Jordy his Tummy Time quilt, isn’t he cute?!   I guess I’ll have to wait for another baby for the girl version to be gifted.  I have lots of nieces and nephews so it’ll happen soon.  My son got married this summer, they could make me  grandma again!!

stitched label

The label is stitched with Packer green thread in honor of his Packer namesake, Jordy Nelson.  Yes, he’s named after a Green Bay Packer player!

Dream Puff batting

The backing and binding are flannel, soft and cozy!

The batting is Quilter’s Dream Puff and the thread is A&E PermaCore.

Thanks for looking!  I’m enjoying all your cookie/candy comments and compliments on my give-away post here.  If you haven’t been blog hopping with the Quilting Gallery here’s the button to get you there!

Quilt wrapping!

Quilt wrapping!

My solution for wrapping a Diaper Genie!  This is the baby’s tummy time quilt, if it’s a girl!  I’ve made another boy version, yet to be quilted.  The baby’s due in 6 weeks.  My prediction is girl, what do you think?

Do I need to finish the boy quilt?  I guess I will to be on the safe side!  I’ll keep you posted!

Baby Anabel

Note to parents:  This is not an heirloom!  Machine wash and dry.  Use it on the floor, at the park or at a picnic!  If you wear it out, I’ll make her another one!
