I love it when I try a new pantograph “hoping” that it will look great and “loving” it when it does! I felt this way about Joanie’s recent wedding quilt. Her granddaughter had picked out the Valori Wells quilt kit and it’s so modern and fresh that I wanted the quilting to compliment that. The pantograph, Firebird by Meadow Lyon is fairly small which is nice for the very large blocks and the thread is a Superior Threads So Fine putty which is slightly darker than the lightest fabric. The result is awesome!! As I hung this quilt for photographing, several family members commented on it. The “younger” members loved it and the “older” did not! What do you think?
Bamboo batting
According to Winline Textiles they have the best 100% bamboo batting and everyone making quilts will soon be using this product because according to their website it’s a natural fiber made from renewable resources, durable, antibacterial, breathable, and thin scrim to prevent stretching and bunching. What do you think? Is bamboo batting the batting of the future? Leave me a comment with your opinion. Thanks!
Freehand stylized shell
Here’s a perfect quilt for an edge to edge design. A freehand shell design adds lots of movement and texture to the batik fabrics. The thread is a King Tut variegated by Superior Threads and the batting is Quilter’s Dream Poly select.
Nickel Gumball by Double Nickel Quilt Challenge
Here’s another fun quilt from Candace of The Double Nickel Quilt Challenge called Nickel Gumball. The pantograph Double Bubble is a perfect compliment to the polka dot border fabric, carrying the circular theme throughout the quilt. The thread is So Fine by Superior Threads and the batting is Quilter’s Dream Poly select.
