Vintage Trip Around the World and new Quilt Easy Video

Vintage Trip Around the World and new Quilt Easy Video

Nina's Vintage TripThis is Nina’s first quilt!  She created a wonderful Trip Around the World using vintage fabric and an uneven layout to have the “trip” centered on the bed.Planned patternThe quilting is a freehand “X” thru each square, simple.  The batting is Quilters Dream 100% Cotton Request which is normally used for hand quilting.  Actually, Nina wanted no batting, so this was a compromise and the result was great!  The quilt is very soft and cuddly!!

Another Quilt Easy video is available!  Swirl & Curl is one of my favorite go to designs that’s easy to execute and if you’re a beginner, very forgiving.  It’s easy to vary and add other shapes, too!  Have fun with it!

Due to large amounts of spam, I’ve turned off the comments.  However, I still want to hear from you!  Please leave a comment on my Facebook page , my Google+ page or the blog home page comment form.

Thanks! 🙂

Addendum:  some of the trash bag scraps became postage stamp charms, people will throw away anything!

PSQ2 – Signed, Sealed and Delivered!!

PSQ2 – Signed, Sealed and Delivered!!

Wrapped and readyYesterday, my hubby’s cousin received a belated birthday/Christmas present from me via UPS!  My second Postage Stamp Quilt – Dancing Nines, 1,728 Charms!  Jeannine was on my Bucket List of quilts to make and I was excited to give it to her.  And coincidentally,  she’s having surgery this week so it’s also a long distance hug from us.Dancing Nines - PSQ2I love scrap quilts and Quiltville is a great source for them!  This quilt is based on Bonnie Hunter’s free pattern called Dancing Nines.  I chose to use my collection of postage stamp 2″ charms from The Curious Quilter swaps and I didn’t add the borders.  Dancing Nines quilting detailI loved quilting this with freehand orange peel in the nine patches and big pebbles in the sashing.

I’m ready to start my third PSQ if I can decide on the next pattern!

As 2014 comes to an end,  I’m thankful to those who have partnered with me to finish their projects and looking forward the many I have waiting for me to start in 2015!

Before I was done, I had six travel pillows and three pillow cases, enough to give to every single digit child at our reunion.

I kept going and by Christmas another six were made!I’ll be heading back for more pillow forms!  The travel pillows are a great size for all ages so I’ll be making many more!Mimosa fabric for WindhamI’m in love with this Mimosa fabric from Windham!  Who wouldn’t like that?!

Baby Gavin’s Tummy Time Quilt!

Baby Gavin’s Tummy Time Quilt!

Wrapped and readyIf I’ve counted correctly, this is Tummy Time quilt number 5 this year!   And Gavin is Wyatt’s cousin!  It was fun to make 2 quilts for my friend’s grandchildren.Gavin's Tummy Time quiltThe center strings are a red flannel with lots of brights and novelties.  The batting is Quilters Dream Puff, quilted with one of my favorite freehand quilting designs, Overlapped Looped Spirals using Superior SoFine! #50.Stitched out nameGavin was an early baby so I was quilting this one after he was born which allowed me to stitch his name into one of solid strings!

January is retreat month so I’ll be starting another one to be prepared for the next one!

Thanks!  Linda
