Add 2 or 3 framing borders and contrasting cornerstones and you have a finished kid quilt!
Audrey made 2 great kid quilts using themed panels, borders and cornerstones.
The quilting is a basic meander with matching thread.

When I got this notebook for Christmas, I thought the design looked familiar. It’s Van Gogh’s Irises.
Van Gogh painted this while living at an asylum and called this painting “the lightning conductor for my illness“. He felt he could keep himself from going insane by continuing to paint. I can relate to that. Quilting keeps me sane!
i use notebooks to keep a diary of every project, mine and customers, that are loaded on the longarm. This is my fourth notebook! I like to record thread color, batting and quilting design notes. I keep track of monthly, yearly and grand totals, too.
Do you have a method for tracking your quilts?

One block quilts are awesome! Does this remind you of my PSQ with lights and darks alternating? I love how some of the darks are medium to light, it adds interesting movement across the quilt.
Have you made a tumbler quilt? Two edges of the quilt are uneven because of the tumbler shape. Teresa’s blocks are 3″ finished. I’m not sure if she’s planning to cut off the edges for a straight binding.
When I made my tumbler quilt, I followed the tumbler shape with the binding. If this was my quilt, I would trim it straight! My blocks finished 6″ and my quilt is smaller, so I had fewer angles.

Last November, I spent a weekend with my sisters. We foraged through Marge’s closet and found lots of fun stuff! One of the finds was a cheater quilt that Marge had hoped to hand quilt. As you know, I’ve been collecting “vintage” tops to finish on my longarm. Just what I need, more UFOs!
Here’s the quilt finished and bound before washing and drying. I did not pre-wash the fabrics because I wanted to wash and dry the quilt for the wrinkly, antique look.
Here’s the quilt after washing. Every flower center is quilted with a different design. That was the fun part for me! I challenged myself to get out rulers, that I never use, to create a fill pattern. I enjoyed doing freehand feathers the most and had to refrain from putting a feather in each one!
I love it! It’s going to be very hard to give this quilt back to Marge!
Every flower block is outlined and echoed, which gives lots of texture. The petals and leaves puff out giving it the impression of applique.
The binding is a dark gold Kona cotton. I love it! Thanks for looking! 🙂 Linda

Yes, it’s a pouch made out of tape measures! I have been wanting to make a little holder for my small Kindle but this Christmas present is perfect! Our daughter works at the Luther College book store and they get the most interesting merchandise. I love it! I’m off the hook for making something now.

Here’s a couple pictures of the quilt I’m working on. It’s a cheater quilt we found in my sister’s closet! I’m having lots of fun quilting different designs in the middle of each flower. It’s hard to photograph when it’s still on the longarm, you can click the picture for a better view!
